Don't Judge Me

Just a quick post today. I installed the car seats on Monday, which was rather odd in and of itself. Later that day, I drove to the store alone. It was a beautiful day and I had the windows down while music was blaring perhaps a bit too loudly. A couple in a big ol' SUV pulled up next to me, looked over in the back seat and gave me a nasty look. So I got my first "you're a bad parent" glare, I guess, as they probably thought the babies were having their eardrums blasted out of their heads...or maybe it was because I was playing Outkast. In any case, I love that I was judged so quickly and sternly before they were even born. I wager I have a lifetime to grow accustomed to this.

Just get used to it...oh and be prepared for very nosey people when you are out with twin babies. "Were they natural?" Comes to mind....lol. Congratulations! It sounds like your wife is doing amazingly well!

Stopping by from Multiples and More. CONGRATS on your upcoming arrivals! I know this is such an amazing time in your lives.

I had to laugh at the thought of you blasting your stereo with the infant seats in the back. I left my girls for the day for the first time a couple of months ago. There I was, alone on the open highway (on a crazy down-and-back trip to attend a baby shower, 540 miles round-trip). I broke out the Red Hot Chili Peppers and even did a little head banging a time or two. I didn't get any looks on the interstate, but it felt exhilerating to be so free. :)

I look forward to hearing your perspective once your baby bundles arrive. Best to you and your family!
